Juan Atkins, Dave Clark, and Carl Craig To Play A Sold Out Glade Festival 2009

Winner of Best Dance Festival at UK Festival Awards 2008
Louder. Later. Longer.
16th – 19th July 2009

With only a couple of days to go to this year’s event, Glade Festival has sold all their tickets. The last ticket was purchased for the 10,000 capacity festie today Tuesday 14th July and takes place from this Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th July at Matterley Bowl, Winchester.

But all is not lost for those who haven’t got a ticket as – fingers crossed – Glade Festival should be broadcasting live and exclusively via the latest live satellite internet technology. Brought to you by missinglinklive.com and Global Teleports, and filmed by Solent University they will use what is considered to be the best equipment available in the UK. If all goes well – as it’s a very last minute plan and it may not be possible to get it all together in time – you should be able to watch full screen hi resolution video and audio direct from the festival on your computers on Sunday at home between 3.15pm and 11.15pm where you’ll be able to catch performances. So tune into gladefestival.com where we’ll hopefully be streaming the festival live and direct to your PC or laptop.

The Glade Festival is shaping up to be one of the festivals this summer, and has arguably been the most talked about UK event this year by far. The buzz around Glade Festival 2009 is unprecedented for any UK dance event. It is the only UK festival to see Underworld perform live and hear exclusive sets from Squarepusher and Booka Shade - not to mention Model 500’s Juan Atkins’ only UK festival appearance.

The dance festival – which won Best Dance Festival at last year’s Festival Awards – is now in its sixth year, and for the first time moves to a new site Matterley Bowl, in Winchester which will allow it to go on later, longer and louder.

The festival has introduced an array of new features including the extraordinary Arcadia – who blew everyone away near Shangri La at this year’s Glastonbury with their amazing scrap metal fire installations – and Carmageddon – a post apocalypse space housing multiple venues hosted by Breaksday, Overkill, Dublime, Nu Skool Breaks and Cool & Deadly. The area will also feature the twisted cabaret of the Interstella Circus.

The Avalon is dedicated to a Psytrance way of life and attitude and is also new. It is conceived as a festival within a festival.

And, for the first time at Glade Festival there will also be world music with Femi Kuti, Nitin Sawhney and Finley Quaye. Drum & Bass makes its debut too as it takes over the Vapor Stage on Sunday with major names such as Andy C, Marky, Noisia, Cyantific and Fresh to name a few – in addition to some of the country’s finest breakthrough DJs and MCs.

Glade Festival 2009
is an electronic four-day proper British festival and features artists such as Booka Shade, Mutant Clan, Carl Craig, Dave Clarke, Adam Beyer, Freeland and more!
