Hot Russian DJ/Producer Proff Drops “My Personal Summer” with Political Agenda

“My Personal Summer” , by Proff caught my ear listening to Above and Beyond’s Vol 6 podcast which is available on  iTunes .  It is one of the smoothest bass lines of the year, and now a personal favorites.  It has been featured on many radio shows over the last week or so, and it catches my ear every time, enough for me to track it down and find out who it was.

Here is a bootleg of the track posted on you Tube, but you can also go to his My Space Page and listen to a hand full of tracks.  Pay close attention to “Aquilas” as well.  Also a quality Dance Track.  I think a solo album may not be far off for this new up and comer, since I actually enjoyed every track on his My Space Page.

Proff’s My Space page gives an interesting insight to not just the DJ’s music , but world politics as well.  Proff, as Russian citizen has a different perspective of Russia’s Military action against Georgia.

PROFF – is the guise of the Russian electro / progressive producer Vladimir Ershov. He was born in 1987 in Moscow. Music was his biggest passion even in childhood. He studied at musical school but soon got tired of boring classics and focused his attention on electronic music. At the age of twelve, Vladimir had bought his first synthesizer, and since then, the dream of being a DJ and producer was an accompaniment of all his life.

The dream came true in 2003, when he entered one of Moscow’s best DJ schools and got the essentials of spinning records. The same year PROFF celebrated his graduation by winning a first prize at DJ competition in Moscow. That was a brilliant start of his club career. But this big success was not enough for the young talent. All free time between playing DJ sets in clubs was occupied by producing his own music. For that time it was melodic trance and progressive.

Year 2004 began with good news. Vladimir got a residence on one of the Russia’s biggest Internet radio-stations “Sunwave”. He was on air live three times a week with shows, dedicated to house, electro, tech-house and progressive style of EDM. Some months after PROFF discovered for himself the advantages of massive electro sound. Since then all his producing efforts were turned to twisted beats and fat bass lines.

During the whole next year PROFF played as a DJ in different corners of Russia and nearby countries. All of his tours had a great success and his popularity started to rise over and over among the promoters. He was spending more and more time in his home studio in searching his own original sound. As a result of hard work PROFF signs his first EP called “Gentleman” on “Moscow Dancefloor Records”. And soon it was the best electro track of October 2006 on Dance-Tunes.com digital store. This year is the time of successful remixes from PROFF, i. e. the tracks by Cressida, Flavio Grifo, R-Tem, Tenthu, Noiz, Stargroove, Alex Vives, Ivan Roudyk were remixed by him; they are being released on “Snoochi-Boochi”, “Meridional”, “Novascape”, “Alter Ego”, “Send”, “Click”, “Electrica”, ”Diamond” etc. All tracks have got a huge support from Noiz, R-Tem, Paul Oakenfold, Abbot & Chambers, DJ Mister Twister, Southman, MV, Ivan Roudyk, DJ Sender and many more.

Vladimir spends a plenty time in studio, improving his technique and creating new tracks. His unique fresh sound is above the boundaries of music styles. Vladimir’s tracks took the best from trance, progressive, electro and tech-house.     -Source   http://www.myspace.com/proffmusic
