UDC Opens an Interactive 3D Archive of Dance Valley Festival Photo’s, and Video

UDC REVEALS FIRST HALF OF HER VIDEO-, AUDIO AND PHOTO ARCHIVE IN ASSOCIATION WITH COLLEGE OF AMSTERDAM

UDC opens up the first part of her exhaustive archive of video, audio en photo materials gathered during the first fifteen editions of Dance Valley in a special website; Dance Valley: Back Into Time. In an intuitive, interactive and fully 3D animated surrounding you will not only see the history of the festival, but the way the dance music culture has developed in the last fifteen years.

THE WEBSITE

Via www.dancevalley.com/backintotime after a short trip through the clouds you’ll arrive in the Valley of Dance. Here you’ll find the distinctive Dance Valley gear wheel with different years printed in it, starting in 1995 and ending in 2008. By clicking the gear you can take a look at each different edition of Dance Valley, starting with the very first and ending with last summer.

In the Valley you’ll find, among other things, a big video screen where you can take a look at footage of the artists, the visitors and everything going on around the festival. You’ll notice a billboard where after a click you can check out loads of photo’s of that edition. There’s a book where you can read about all the performances, the weather conditions and what made the biggest impression on the party people. Every year has its own special nooks and surprises including a fully rendered 3D image of the Mainstage of that year, click on it to view the line-up of that year. By clicking on the zeppelin you can view the website belonging to that edition.

The most important element of Dance Valley still remains the music. At the Dance Valley: Back Into Time website you’ll find a long list of live-sets of great quality that have never been revealed until now. Listen to Armin van Buuren (’03 and ’05), Tom Harding (’99), Carl Cox (’00, ’05 en ’07), Marcus Schössow (’08), Marco V (’06), Adam Beyer (’04), Orbital (’01), Junkie XL (’02). Johan Gielen (’03), Randy Katana (’04), Misja Heilsloot (’03), JP (’97) and more.

Dance Valley: Back Into Time was a huge project and a cooperation between UDC and the Interactive Media course at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA). The site will be Dance Valley’s digital archive on the internet and after every edition new content will be added.
